Characteristics of optoelectronic feedback for smart pixels withsmart illumination

The application of optoelectronic feedback in addressing variousnproblems in smart pixel arrays is considered. Special attention is paidnto issues associated with light sources such as device nonlinearity andnnonuniformity. Moreover, new classes of smart pixel applications takingnadvantage of the useful properties of optoelectronic feedback arendiscussed. Experimental results from a demonstration chip based onnmonolithic integration of optoelectronic devices on GaAs substrate arenpresented
