We present two approaches to numerical modeling of periodicndispersion-managed (DM) fiberoptic communication systems. The firstnapproach is a path-average mapping method giving analytical expressionnfor the transfer function (over a system period) for arbitrary cascadednDM system with different periods of the amplification and dispersionncompensation. The second method is an expansion of the signal innperiodic DM transmission lines in the complete basis of Gauss-Hermitenfunctions with the leading Gaussian zero mode. Theoretical results arenverified by direct numerical simulations
