Interworking of a satellite system for mobile multimediaapplications with the terrestrial networks

This paper deals with the interworking of a satellite system fornmobile multimedia applications with the terrestrial environment. Thenconcept of an “overlying network” is introduced with the aimnof giving a common approach for the interworking of the considerednsatellite system with the various terrestrial networks (B-ISDN, N-ISDN,nTCP/IP). The paper particularizes the introduced concept to the case innwhich the considered satellite system is interfaced with the broadbandnISDN (B-ISDN)
