The introduction of a thin dielectric ring helps to increase the differential phase shift of the quadrupole gyromagnetic ferrite variable polariser by about 20～30/100. Furthermore, a double-step impedance transformer has been introduced to broaden the bandwidth from 4.06 to 14.5/100.
