If there’s one thing we’re missing in Idahonhigher education, it’s a Master’s-levelnprogram in library and information science.nGoing to graduate school is challengingnenough when you live in the same town asnyour school. Having to virtually commutenand fit online courses into an already busynschedule adds a whole new layer ofnchallenge. Not to mention that onlineneducation, despite the benefits ofnconvenience, can be more challenging asnonline students require more self-motivationnand independence than students in thenclassroom. Online students have littlenopportunity to gain perspectives fromnclassmates, and having face-to-face contactnwith the professor is out of the question. Thenonline medium creates a barrier between the student and professor can make it difficult to hold a substantial conversation tondiscuss difficulties, material, or whatever is at issue.
