The Mississippi Library Commission (MLC) is one of the 47 state library agencies in the United States of America. A state library is the official agency that is responsible for developing and promoting public library services throughout the state and it has adequate authority under state law to administer state plans in accordance with the provision of the Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA) of 2003. This article sheds light on how the state library provides different types of specialized services to public libraries in Mississippi.
