The fourth Ministerial eGovernment Conference was held in Lisbon, Portugal in September, 2007 where a Ministerial Declaration was adopted underlining the importance of eGovernment to Europe and its citizens. It was organized by the European Commission and Portugese Presidency. and showcased achievements and good practice across EU Member States and looks towards the future. Presentations were designed to demonstrate the positive impact of eGovernment in terms of long-term sustainability of the European economy and citizens' welfare. The last ministerial was held in Manchester in 2005 where a Ministerial Declaration and i2010 eGovernment Action Plan adopted.
