Some Peculiarities of Accumulation of Heavy Metals by Macrophytes and Epiphyton Algae in Water Bodies of Urban Territories

The species composition of algae occurring in the fouling of higher aquatic plants in four water bodies of the town of Kiev, and also their role along with macrophytes in the process of accumulation of cadmium, copper, zinc, and lead, was investigated. It has been found that phytoepiphyton occurring on half-submerged plants differed from that registered on submerged plants in the pattern of accumulation of the studied metals.
