National Inventory of Dams: A Wealth of Information

Technical information about nearly 80,000 existing dams in the United States is available from the National Inventory of Dams. Information includes dam name, owner, location by waterway and county, primary purpose, type of dam, and height. The inventory — available as a searchable database on the Internet at www.tec.army.milid — is maintained by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
