Four Vietnam firms to build 2,400-mw Son La

State utility Electricity of Vietnam (EVN) contracted with Vietnamese construction companies to build the 2,400-MW Son La hydro-power plant. State media said EVN, the sole investor of the US$2.3 billion plant, aims to start the first generator in late 2010. By 2012, the plant would be fully operational.
