Honduras-based GeoConsult SA de C.V. has won a bid to supervise construction of a bypass at 50 MW Centroamerica. The US$426,830 contract, financed by the Inter-American Development Bank, is part of Nicaragua's $381 million National Sustainable Electrification and Renewable Energy program. The country's state-owned power generator, Empresa Nicaraguense de Electricidad, says the project should extend the plant's useful life by 25 years.
