Utility EB selects supplier for Dovikfoss plant equipment repairs

European utility Energiselskapet Buskerud (EB) has selected Alstom to repair and refurbish the generator at the 25 MW Dovikfoss hydropower plant, completed in 1975 on the Drammenselva River in Norway. The US$5.2 million contract is intended to limit the loss of energy production due to the spilling of water, Alstom says, with dismantling work starting in May and reassembly to be complete by June 2015.
