3929 THE LUMP-SUM SOCIAL SECURITY DEATH BENEFIT

Upon the death of a fully or currently insured worker, one lump-sum death benefit of $255 is paid to either (1) the worker's widow or widower who was living with the worker at the time of death, or (2) the worker's widow or widower who was not living with the worker but who is eligible on the worker's earnings record, or (3) an eligible surviving child (i.e., one eligible for child's benefits), in that order of priority.
