Not all HR people have a direct responsibility for safety. But you know your organization's safety success - or lack of same - directly impacts employee productivity. That's why you can take comfort in a report just released by DOL: Nonfatal injuries are down to 4.2 per 100 full-time equivalent workers. That's the lowest level since 2002, when the new recordkeeping rules took effect. Also falling were recordable injuries, cases involving days off work, and cases involving job transfers or restrictions.
