Although the seven articles included in this special issue reflect only a subset of the broad range of topics that could have been addressed, it is hoped that they will be valuable for both researchers and practitioners. More specifically, with regard to researchers, it is anticipated that by providing an up-to-date review of specific selection topics and noting gaps in the literature, important future research will be generated. With regard to practitioners, by noting ways to get maximum value out of a selection device while complying with the law, it is hoped that better practice will result.rnIn closing, i want to express my appreciation to Rodger Griffeth for giving me the opportunity to develop and edit this special issue of HRMR. In addition, I want to thank him for acting as editor on my biodata article and thank the three reviewers who provided comments on it.
