IX All-Russia Workshop-Seminar 'Experimental and Clinical Physiology of Respiration' (March 1-5,2004, St. Petersburg)

The IX All-Russia Workshop-Seminar "Experimental and Clinical Physiology of Respiration" was organized by the Pavlov Institute of Physiology (Russian Academy of Sciences) and Tver State University with the participation of the Institute of General Pathology and Pathophysiology (Russian Academy of Medical Sciences) under Decision no. 105 of the Bureau of the Division of Biological Sciences of the Russian Academy of Sciences dated September 23, 2003, and the Program of Academic Meetings to Be Convened in the First Half of 2004 approved by the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation. The seminar was held in Repino (in the vicinity of St. Petersburg) from March 1 through 5, 2004. The seminar was attended by more than 100 researchers, clinicians, and teachers and students of medical and pedagogical institutes from a number of Russian cities, as well as guests from Belarus, Finland, Israel, and Ukraine. Leading specialists in experimental and clinical respiration physiology delivered lectures concerning the most important theoretical and methodological problems of this branch of medicine and chaired roundtables where these issues were discussed. The participants in the seminar considered the key questions of the experimental phvsiologv and pathology of respiration and its clinical aspects.
