The Virginia Housing Development Authority (VHDA) is considering changes for its 2006 low-income housing tax credit qualified allocation plan (QAP) that include a mixed-income requirement for projects with more than 100 units. Other proposed changes would create a noncompeti-tive pool of credits for preservation projects in the Northern Virginia Washington, D.C., suburbs, encourage environmentally sound and energy-efficient buildings, and restructure credit allocation pools. The changes will be discussed at an October 14 focus group discussion, and VHDA anticiipates approving a final QAP on November 15, with a Marth 10 deadline for applications and market studies.
