摘要

HomeAid America, a national nonprofit founded by home builders in Southern California, has completed more than 100 transitional housing developments for homeless individuals and families through its 22 chapters in 11 states and is developing more, according to Genette Eaton, HomeAid chief executive officer. HomeAid serves as a liaison between local builders and homeless service organizations that need to add capacity to their existing facilities, according to Eaton. HomeAid chapters build or renovate transitional housing for domestic violence victims, individuals recovering from drug or alcohol abuse, single mothers and children, and emancipated youths.
