Treasury Issues Rules to Implement Terrorism Insurance Reauthorization

The Treasury Department has issued regulations to implement provisions in the 2007 law reauthorizing the Terrorism Risk Insurance Act (TRIA), including an interim final rule addressing the mandatory availability and disclosure requirements and a proposed rule for the recoupment of a portion of the federal share of compensation for insured losses. The interim final rule was published in the September 16 Federal Register, and comments are due October 16. The proposed rule was published September 17, with comments due October 17.
