摘要

Unemployment and the foreclosure crisis have increased low-income families' problems in finding decent, affordable housing, according to the National Low Income Housing Coalition's (NLIHC) latest "Out of Reach" report on rental housing affordabiliry.rnThe 2009 survey concludes that a that a household must earn a "housing wage" of $17.84 per hour, the equivalent of $37,105 in annual income, to afford the national average two-bedroom fair market rent (FMR) of $928 per month, keeping housing costs below 30 percent of income.rn"The longstanding structural deficit of rental homes that the lowest income people can afford, exacerbated by the economic recession, will surely lead to more people becoming homeless," said Sheila Crowley, NLIHC president.
