RHS Proposes Regulation for Continuous Section 538 Construction, Permanent Loan Guarantee

The Rural Housing Service (RHS) would provide a continuous Section 538 multifamily loan guarantee for construction and permanent financing under a proposed rule published in the January 29 Federal Register.rnComments on the rule should be submitted by March 30.rnCurrently, the RHS provides two types of Section 538 guarantees: a guarantee for the permanent loan only, or a guarantee that covers construction advances which will be extended to cover the permanent loan when certain conditions are met. Those two types of guarantees would continue to be offered.
