The Florida Housing Coalition (FHC) is working to preserve the state and local affordable housing trust funds, which are threatened by a 2011-12 budget proposal from Gov. Rick Scott (R). Scott is proposing to terminate the funds and transfer trust fund revenue from the document stamp tax on real estate transactions to the general fund. Scott wants to cut taxes to attract business to the state, and his consolidation of several trust funds and program cuts are part of that plan.
