HUD is streamlining the housing counseling grant process in order to get funds out faster, according to Deborah C. Holston, acting deputy assistant secretary for single-family housing. In addition, Holston told the House housing subcommittee at a September 14 hearing, the department is working to establish an Office of Housing Counseling, as mandated by the Dodd-Frank Act.
