CDFI Fund Gets 314 Applications for 2011 New Markets Tax Credit Round

The Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFI) Fund received 314 applications for the 2011 round of the New Markets tax credit (NMTC) program, up 26 percent from 2010 and the largest number of applications since the program's first year in 2002. The Fund expects to announce the awards early next year. The applicants requested a total of $26,663 billion in investment allocation authority, a 14 percent increase from 2010 and more than seven times the $3.5 billion available.
