HUD Releases FY 2013 Proposed Fair Market Rents

HUD released proposed fiscal year (FY) 2013 fair market rents (FMRs) for the Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) and Moderate Rehabilitation Single Room Occupancy programs. See 77 FR 46447, Friday, August 3, 2012. FMRs are used to determine payment standards for the HCV program, to determine initial renewal rents for some expiring project-based Section 8 contracts, to determine initial rents for housing assistance payment contracts in the Moderate Rehabilitation Single Room Occupancy program and to serve as rent ceilings for the HOME program.
