NTHP AWARDS GRANTS TO PRESERVE BLACK HISTORY

The National Trust for Historic Preservation is awarding over $1.6 million in grants through its African American Cultural Heritage Action Fund - a $25 million, multi-year national initiative aimed at protecting and restoring African American historic sites and uncovering hidden stories of African Americans connected to them. This year's funds were provided by The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation. Grants are given across four categories: capacity building, project planning, capital, and programming and interpretation.
