DHS S&T CHIEF PLEASED WITH RESPONSE TO 'CELL-ALL' BAA

Under Secretary of Homeland Security for Science & Technology Jay Cohen said last week that he is pleased with the number of responses the Department of Homeland Security received earlier this month regarding a state-of-the-art chem-bio detector that would be small enough to be implanted into cellular phones. Speaking at the National Defense Industry Association's annual holiday breakfast Dec. 13, Cohen said 115 companies responded to the CELL-ALL broad agency announcement, which closed earlier this month. "I didn't know how many we'd receive," Cohen told HD&S Monitor. "I'd have been happy with a couple of dozen, so this is exciting."
