CBP SEEKS SOLUTIONS FOR CRANE-MOUNTED DETECTION SYSTEM

The Department of Homeland Security Customs and Border Protection office is seeking information on commercially available crane-mounted detection technologies, though CBP officials have in the past been skeptical about the logistics of using such a device. According to a Feb. 15 notice, CBP is looking to learn about full-scale or operational prototypes for spreader-mounted radiationuclear detection technology that can detect radioactive threats in containerized cargo being transferred from ship to shore.
