Midwestern retailer Gordmans earlier this month announced plans to open nine stores this year, including four new market entries. The company sees a potential for 300 to 500 stores, executives said at the 14th Annual ICR XChange Conference in Miami. The apparel and home decor retailer operates 74 stores in 16 states. Home decor represents about 30% of revenue and includes a vast assortment of items from wall decor to accent furniture and table-top items. Across all categories, the retailer carries 100,000 skus at moderate prices.
