Pier 1 Imports took its holiday season marketing to a new three-dimensional level this year with the launch of a limited edition pop-up catalog and temporary storefront pop-up shop display in New York. The life-sized, pop-up book installation in New York was open to the public for several days earlier this month. Grammy award winning pop artist Mariah Carey, dubbed the Queen of Christmas, attended the installation's opening reception. The open storefront in SoHo was transformed into "Pier 1 Imports: Christmas Pop-Up Storybook." At the event, visitors were able to walk through a "storybook" to discover magical scenes and colorful vignettes from some of the company's Christmas style stories, including Plaid Tidings, Frosted Noel, Home Sweet Holiday and Champagne Shimmer. Holiday trees adorned the space and a photo booth was available for visitors. Toward the back of the installation, a full holiday table was set, compete with all the trimmings and placecards set for Mrs.Claus, Prancer and even Mariah.
