As off-price fever sweeps up middle market retailers Macy's and Kohl's, Burlington Stores is angling for a bigger share of the home furnishings business in the space. Burlington is beefing up its home department, expanding its supplier base and revamping the layout in roughly 40% of its 546 stores. "In 205 of our stores, we have a new home presentation," chairman, president and ceo Tom Kingsbury said at the 22nd Annual Gold-man Sachs Global Retailing Conference in New York earlier this month.
