Moving quickly to execute on its plans to right-size its physical store footprint and beef up omnichannel operations, Bed Bath & Beyond announced a slate of senior hires in rapid succession across 26 days in September. All the roles are being filled by executives from outside the company, and the appointments followed the late August announcement that Bed Bath & Beyond was cutting 2,800 jobs immediately - which amounted to roughly 5% of its total workforce. In July, BBB made the decision to shutter 200 doors permanently.
