I was visiting the MAISON & OBJET show online and checking the images from lighting exhibitors. Of course I was expecting dramatic, imaginative, and downright gorgeous lamps and chandeliers, and there they were, many lamped with LEDs. Well, why not? The technology actually enhanced the new designs, taking them to new levels of illumination and art. Then it struck. For most of us working with lighting day to day, we take these developments in stride, but for consumers, especially in the U.S., this is big news and big change.
