METRO LIGHTING'S EFFICIENCY EFFORTS GAIN SECOND EPA AWARD

St. Louis-based Metro Lighting has gained its second ENERGY STAR Excellence in Retailing for Lighting award in as many years for its marketing of energy-saving products and pro-grams. The company provides bulb and battery recycling, has a company-wide recycling program and lighting center dimming system, and participates in community events that focus on the environment. Throughout its seven locations, Metro Lighting and its sister company, Metro Electric Supply, offer fluorescent re-lamping and ballasting, LED technologies, occupancy sensors, dimming controls, and energy audits. Along with bulb manufacturer TCP, Metro Lighting has given away more than 5,000 ENERGY STAR-qualified CFLs.
