The great masterpieces of art, ancient writings and other cultural assets can now be preserved by using Hitachi's new digital image processing technology. The Digital Image System is the name of a complete digital processing system for high quality still images for handling paintings and photographs, contributing to preserving invaluable cultural assets for eternity. This system is suitable not only for a museum or library, but also for various fields of business, such as publishing, broadcasting, photography andpublic relations for government and general enterprises. The "Electronic Art Gallery" as an application example of this system, exhibited and demonstrated at TELECOM 95 in Geneva.
