High-Resolution Super-Twisted Nematic Liquid Crystal Color Displays

The need for flat-panel displays (FPDs) is growing rapidly because of their suitability for mobile computers. Among FPDs, super-twisted nematic liquid crystal displays (STN-LCDs) are highlighted because of their cost-effectiveness. We have developed new technologies to improve display quality, such as crosstalk, brightness, contrast ratio, screen uniformity and response time. As a result, 29-cm (11.3-inch) and 31-cm (12.1-inch) high-resolution color STN-LCDs with a resolution of (800 x 3) x 600 dots have now been developed.
