Last month we considered mobilisation. Hopefully by now, on our notional project, the mobilisation period has run smoothly and things have been cranked up to full speed. Attention will be turning towards the practicalities of performing the services provided for under the project agreement and getting paid. The payment mechanism on most contracts will usually be a complex affair: encompassing calculation of a unitary charge, by reference to performance standards, output specification and contract monitoring obligations. Here we will be navigating through this web of interrelating clauses.
