Recycling is becoming an increasing important maintenance technique for roads in the UK. Cold recycling techniques, for which the recycling process is conducted at relatively low temperatures, offer a number of potential benefits including: 1. Reduced consumption of primary aggregates and a corresponding reduction in the amount of waste material taken to landfill. 2. Reduced consumption of energy due to reduced transport requirements and low temperatures at production compared to conventional materials.
