摘要

Motorists are already driving faster past decommissioned speed cameras as a top policeman warned that the cuts could cause more deaths on the road.rnCouncils are switching off speed cameras across the country as cuts in government funding mean they can no longer afford to operate them. And the number of drivers speeding past Oxfordshire's deactivated speed cameras has already increased by up to 88% according to safety campaigners. Thames Valley's Safer Road Partnership monitored drivers on two roads in the county for five days after the cameras were axed. The tests were carried out in Watlington Road, Cowley, and the A44 in Woodstock from Thursday till Monday.
