While using PFA in construction projects might seem novel, its been around for thousands of years. Both the Ancient Romans and Ancient Greeks realised that mixing volcanic ash with water and stone led to the creation of a strong binding agent and building material, making it ideal for use in large, complex structures. Rome's Pantheon and Naples' Pozzuoli Bay are both famous for their use of ash-based concrete as a construction material and, as testament to their success, remain standing today.
