摘要

Last year, on a crisp October evening, our staff at the Slough Borough Council Parking Shop closed down their computers, turned off the lights and locked up for the night. The day had been much like any other and as they bid each other goodnight, the team assumed the next day would follow a similar course. They were wrong. Hours later, the building was engulfed in flames. After an arsonist started a fire, the flames had spread quickly, and as a wall of smoke billowed through the parking offices, training suite and team briefing rooms, the mobile enforcement vehicles blazed in the car park.
