Three chasing Suffolk relief road job

Graham, Jackson and Volker Fitzpatrick are chasing a £12m contract to build a relief road at Bury St Edmonds in Suffolk for the county council. Procurement started this summer on the project, which is known as the Bury Eastern Relief Road. Those contractors on the shortlist are being asked to price two options: either to build the full 2.3km section of road or just a 600m stretch at the western end. The deadline for bids is 16 October and a start on site for the 12-month project is pencilled in for March 2016. If the full 2.3km section of road is built, this will link Bedingfeld Way with the A14 Rookery at Crossroads. This would also include the building of five roundabouts, alterations to slip roads and reconstructing a 560m section of existing road.
