Xerox is a company that the graphic arts industry either accepts as a viable supplier (now or in the future) or as a company that is mistrusted and not a part of this industry. Xerox claims to be the second-largest supplier to the industry, with onlyrnHeidelberg being larger. However, most people see this claim as being somewhat difficult for Xerox to justify. Xerox, in fact, put itself forward as the major alternative supplier to Heidelberg at Drupa 2000. Since Drupa, Xerox has pointed out how successful it has been in graphic arts, and that graphic arts is now one of the company's most important markets. Despite this, Xerox has gone seriously downhill financially in the past nine months, and to some credit observers, its shares now are regarded as little more than junk stock. Xerox has had massive financial problems that are brought about by many things, most of which, however, can be blamed on very bad management.
