Big screen, hang-on-the-wall entertainment is getting more affordable by the season, although the substantial 55kg bulk of Fujitsu's new P55XHA40 plasma suggests it's not getting any lighter. This is the evolved version of Fujitsu's P55XHA30 (AVTech Aug '04), based around the same 1366x768 pixel panel, with its native 16:9 aspect ratio, but finally benefiting from its 10bit AVMII video processing regime. This is now the largest plasma to combine Extended-ALiS panel technology with AVMII de-interlacing, scaling and driving electronics but at a price that's a full two grand cheaper than last season.
