With this year marking my 25th Anniversary at HFN, I was toying with a nostalgic column on all the formats that have come and gone in that period. True to form, the industry treated us to another, when HD DVD died in January. But anger, rather than morbid humour was my response, and not because HD DVD was anything special, nor that it deserved to live. What infuriated me about the whole debacle was its predictability, especially the aftermath.
