Yesterday I bought three of the 2009 Beatles re-mastered CDs: Please Please Me, Revolver and Abbey Road. I compared Revolver to my '80s CD and 1970s vinyl copies of the album. On first listen I felt that the set's 1960s feel had been lost, but then I realised that this 'feel' is simply a label I had given to the way I had heard the album all my life and that there is much more clarity to it all - revealed in the re-masters.
