Higher up the bureaucratic food chain there's Digital UK. And the quite different DTC, the Digital Television Group. On top of the pile sits the government's Department of Culture, Media and Sport and the official quango Ofcom. Ofcom has a semi-independent advisory group called the Consumer Panel, which is sadly lacking in technical nous.rnThere are also trade bodies, like Intellect, and various Help the Elderly/Blind/Deaf/ Disadvantaged organisations. Although it has recently fallen silent, the Voice of the Listener and Viewer group may still be in existence. There are probably several other organisations or bodies I have never heard of, or forgotten about.
