PRO-JECT V-PACK (￡ 1000)

Although we've not formally tested Pro-Ject's 2-Xperience deck before, its basic performance is certainly a step-up from the older Xpression model. Rumble is low at -68.5dB through the groove (improving to -69.5dB with the clamp in place) and -70.5dB directly through the bearing, figures that are 2-3dB better than that achieved by our favoured (and EISA Award winning) Thorens TD309 [HFN Jun '10]. Speed accuracy out of the box is better too with an error of just +03% while speed variations measured as wow and flutter are numerically similar at 0.03%/0.03%, respectively, even if the wow component at ±3Hz is more dominant here [see Graph 1, below].
