North Star Essensio Plus

North Star Design's 'Plus' version of its Essensio DAC employs the same architecture as the model we tested in July '11. It also has the same suite of inputs, the price premium of £280 buying an integrated headphone amplifier and digital volume control. There are no analogue inputs provided but, assuming a digital-source-only system, you can still drive a power amp or active speakers directly.
