Grappling with CD de-emphasis

I read with interest Jim Lesurf's comments about CD de-emphasis in his column in the May issue. Like Jim, I have noticed that many of the CDs supplied with BBC Music Magazine in the past couple of years apparently have pre-emphasis applied.
